Rip your CDs into Qija.
Requires macOS 26 or later. Signed and notarised by Apple.
- Why isn't this on the App Store?
- Because it's not allowed. App Store sandboxing won't let apps talk to optical drives — so we ship this one ourselves.
- How do I install it?
- Open the downloaded .dmg, drag Qija CD Ripper into the Applications folder, then eject the disk image. That's it.
- macOS asked me to confirm before opening it. Is that OK?
- Yes — that prompt is normal for any app downloaded outside the App Store. The app is signed and notarised by Apple, so you can click Open. You won't be asked again.
- I want to rip my CDs into Qija.
- Well, it's your lucky day.
- Does it download artwork and track listings?
- It does this for you.
- What file types does it output?
- AAC, for now. Get in touch if you want something fancier like FLAC — if enough people ask, we'll see what we can do.
