Moderation & Reports

How we handle reports of abusive content. 24-hour response, no excuses.

1. Our Commitment

Qija has a zero-tolerance policy for abusive, harassing, hateful, or sexually explicit user-generated content. Every profile and shared post in the app can be reported. We commit to triaging every report within 24 hours of receipt and acting on legitimate reports as quickly as possible.

2. What Can Be Reported

Anything user-generated and visible to other users:

  • Profile fields — usernames, display names, avatars
  • Share messages and event invite messages
  • Group names and descriptions
  • Any other free-text or user-uploaded content surfaced to other accounts

Reports can be filed from the in-app Report action on any profile or shared post, or by emailing report@qija.nl.

3. Triage Process

Every accepted in-app report is persisted server-side and emailed to report@qija.nl. Reports are reviewed in the order received, with priority given to reports involving minors, threats of violence, or doxxing. Our internal process:

  1. Acknowledge — within 24 hours of receipt, the report is reviewed by a human moderator.
  2. Investigate — the reported content and the reported account's recent activity are examined against the Terms of Use, in particular Section 4 (Acceptable Use).
  3. Act — depending on severity, action ranges from removing the offending content, to suspending the account, to permanent ban and (where required by law) referral to law enforcement.
  4. Record — outcomes are logged against the report for audit and to inform future moderation.

4. Account-Level Tools

Independently of reports, every user can block any other user. Blocking is mutual and instant: blocked users cannot see each other's profiles, listens, or shared content, and are auto-unfollowed in both directions. Blocks can be managed from Settings → Blocked Users.

5. Repeat Offenders

Accounts that accumulate substantiated reports, or commit a single severe violation, are subject to permanent revocation. Username re-registration is blocked for 90 days after deletion to prevent immediate impersonation.

6. Appeals

If your account has been actioned and you believe the decision was wrong, email support@qija.nl with your username and a description of the dispute. Appeals are reviewed by a person who was not involved in the original decision.
